  • Visited this fountain for the first time today before swiftly kicking off my flip-flops and enthusiastically dipping my pretty feet in the gushing water, which felt amazing, as little children were happily playing nearby. Also lay on the lush, well-cut grass while the sound of streaming water and kids having a great time was very peaceful, relaxing, therapeutic and mood-boosting. Well-worth attending and would certainly revisit. Wish I lived closer though as I would attend more often, even during winter!
  • Whatever we think about memorials or those they are attributed to they do offer talking points and something to see. The memorial itself is well designed and is a good memory of the person. However could the money have been spent on one of her charities? It is a relaxing spot and a good place to walk and take in some nature in a city that is devoid of life, love and anything worthwhile.
  • It's an uncommon fountain. It's in a circle shape and the water flow is different every two meters. The simbolica meaning that I gave is that the circle shape represents the circle of life. The water flow in different ways as the different timings of our life.
  • Interesting water feature. Fun for kids. Great addition to Hyde Park
  • I didn't hate it and I am not a royalist, but a pretty poor memorial for someone who really DID capture so many plebian hearts

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
