We were in the area for a family event and I took the opportunity to take the grandchildren to see the dinosaurs. This was a first time for me too. We entered the park from the small entrance by the r...  more »

A very pleasant park to visit on a good weather day. The dinosaurs are interesting though rather underwhelming. Plenty of lovely strolling paths and a well looked after children's playground.  more »

  • One of the best parks and spaces in south London always busy even in the cold. And it's got some great history too. Read up on it, then visit Is it responsible for the Parakeets who knows
  • Nice park with some attractions as the dinosaurs. Nice space for picnics and ball games. The canteen serves good food, but isn't cheap.
  • Whilst the park is a wonderful attraction for the whole family the terraces at the top are still a window in to times passed. From the top of the ridge that the Crystal Palace once stood the views are well worth the climb to see. The Shirley windmill to the Dartford Crossing are all easily seen and on a clear day the TV mast at Folkstone can be seen all 61 miles away!
  • I've used this park for about 30 years. It has been a good playground for my children, a good recreation centre for my whole family. I have walked my dogs here, had picnics here, been to funfairs up here. This park has been my country side. I have loved going to classical music evenings, watch fireworks, and going to festivals. I love CP Park
  • Interesting place with lots of history. Good maze! Great for walking and jogging around. There is a Park Run here on Saturdays.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
