Clerkenwell, London

(5/5 based on a few reviews on the web)
Stroll along streets lined with heritage-listed buildings in London’s attractive Clerkenwell. Once known as "Little Italy," this area is now packed full of listed town houses, historic buildings, museums, Michelin-star restaurants, and cafes. The area was once an ancient parish, linking nearby Islington with the city of London, making it a desirable place to live; Oliver Cromwell even owned a house here in the 17th century. Wander along the quaint streets, follow small alleyways to find hidden pubs, and stop by the street market for a bite to eat. • A charming area away from tourists with many nice restaurants and bars/pubs; I used to work in the area and still like visiting, especially when socialising with former colleagues.  more »
  • Perhaps not the first thing you think when you visit London, but really nice atmospheric area with beautiful streets, shops and plenty of dining options. Nice to stroll through it! Finish by Exmouth market!
