Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • My boyfriend and I went to the Capital Carboot sale 2 years ago as we wanted to get rid of stuff that was collecting dust at home, so after doing some research we decided to go to this one in Pimlico....  more »
  • The are none better for free access, easy parking, and high quality stuff. Antiques abound but come early for the bargains.  more »
  • Really bad. Only 14 traders there and 4 of those had walked there with a couple of suitcases. The guy on the gate said the weather had put people of but it wasn't raining and it is advertised as Londo...  more »

  • The most beautiful, civilized & chilled carboot. They start later, so you don't have to find your way there in your sleep. They provide tabletops or rails, so you don't have to drag one along. They have handsome ever so helpful gents on site to help you (if they are free). The location is to die for, -Pimlico and Victoria stations are walking distance, lots of buses. Lots of variety. Lovely just to wander about, who knows what you might find and kids can play. J'adore!
  • Brilliant place. I have come here to buy on and off for years and I love it. Atmosphere is great, staff are great and i've got some mega bargains. Tried it as a seller last week and i made tonnes of cash- i'll be having another clear out soon! Highly recommend capital carboot- well done folks!
  • This is the worst carboot I have ever had to deal with very very unhelpful. I booked my pitch online gave bank details filled in the form got a email to say thank you for filling in form will get back to you within 24 hours with confirmation. BE PATIENT,,,, so I waited and waited until Sunday morning when car was loaded all kids excited ready to make the 40 min car journey, and just to be safe thought I better email to confirm my booking as they couldn't be bothered to confirm. And to my despair I got an email back to say no we don't have a booking for you. WHAT I sent forward the email to show I did book on Wednesday. But nothing I pleaded with them to try and help but nothing I think that is so rude and I will never be going there ever. I went to a carboot in redbourne that day and made £236 it is a much better better and more organised then capital carboot
  • I am a Seller and have to say this is the best car boot from my point of view. The pitch is really big compared to other car boots have been and also more affordable than other places. One of the organiser is a bit rude but apart from that they really let you do whatever you want from chosing your spot to the amount of space you take. The Lady organiser is really nice by the way! I maybe wish there were more good customers as most of them want to get your goodies really cheap for then re-sell online and make a profit. I think overall you can find some really good bargains.
  • Few iffy sellers. Some very expensive, but many good decent ppl, with sensible pricing
