Bloomsbury Bowling, London

2.4
#57 of 139 in Fun & Games in London
Forget bowling past, London's Bloomsbury Lanes provide the fun of bowling in a charming venue with a completely unique style.

The Bloomsbury Lanes has eight swish bowling lanes, complete with the only vintage above lane ball return outside the US.

Far more than just bowling, the venue has a large cocktail bar made from bowling lane wood, a full service diner serving classic American fare and plenty of lounge space to relax over a drink.

For those looking for a more private affair, the Kingpin Suite with five bowling lanes is the perfect size for exclusive events.

Centrally located just off Russell Square and Holborn, Bloomsbury Bowling is easy to access from all London areas.

So whether you're meeting up with friends for drinks, or want to hold a private bowling event for a large group, Bloomsbury Bowling has it all.

What a class place that produces a top end pizzas like they do is anyone's guess. It's a waste really. It honesty deserves better than this dump of a bowling alley. Hopefully the surroundings don't pu...  more »

  • The bowling itself was fantastic fun and the music was cracking! The food however was not. We decided on Bloomsbury Bowling over the many other bowling establishments in central London because it claimed it serves 'the second best burger in London'. This may be true if you are a fan of McDonalds and enjoy a dry, floppy, thin piece of meat in a bang average, very small roll. They also arrived at the table worryingly quickly. I could also see the chef eating pieces of cheese whilst preparing the pizzas which was somewhat off putting. The hot dog on the other hand was delicious and definitely the better option. Otherwise a great night was had by all
  • LOVED this place. Was here as a lone American in my party of 6 for the Super Bowl. We had a karaoke room rented for the evening to watch the game, and had plenty of beers and tasty pizza. Love the cozy atmosphere of this place but can't speak to it on a non-event night. Will definitely go back though!
  • For a fun evening of activities to satisfy a group of friends this venue is hard to beat. Comprising of various partnered activities like bowling, pool, ping pong and karaoke. There is enough to keep you entertained for an evening. Alongside the entertainment, there is a mini bar, restaurant and seating area for those times when you are feeling less than energetic or need to chill out at and chat. This is a popular venue that tends to get busy quickly and has a fairly mixed crowd of attendees. From after work to students. Prices are quite reasonable with increases coming during festive periods, which is typical tactics for businesses. The venue is spacious with activities centred into zones that are easy to navigate. The service can get a little flustered at times but is generally reasonable. The food is quite good with average portions comprising of your usual burgers or hot dogs. If you want a fun night of activities for a group of friends there is no better place to go.
  • A super Wednesday night for the team. Staff on the ball and we had insanely big pizzas after bowling in the onsite diner. Good beer list kept the team interested. Night ended in one of the karaoke rooms. Bowl, karaoke rooms and pizza all the way!
  • Great place. Nice little quiet environment for parties and staff events. Old retro driving game machine. Choose the left one as this is definitely quicker I tried it multiple times and it is. Nice little bar. Karaoke. 6 little alleys nice little private venue.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
