Berry Bros. & Rudd, London

"If you penetrate behind the famous shop front at 3 St James's Street you find that Berry Bros. are a firm of surprising contrasts. The list of their clientele since 1698 reads like the index to a politico-social history of England: yet, today any number of regular customers drop in and take away a bottle or two in a carrier bag. Moreover they receive as warm a welcome as a millionaire restocking his cellar"Take a look at our London trip itinerary builder to schedule your visit to Berry Bros. & Rudd and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

Although I find it difficult to comment too much on wines I feel I must on this occasion. It is very hard to sign up to the negatives about BBR I cannot say the same. As a straight forward village pub... read more »
We were invited to a dinner party that was in their private dining room. The wine, food and the service - excellent. The sommelier knew a lot about the history of Berry Brothers and the wines that were served.
Superb whiskey advice and worth a visit just for the armosphere! We had the pleasure of being attended to by Francis, who turned out to be the shop manager. He dedicated his time and his expertise to us, and we found the perfect whiskey from the shop's own selection. The shop itself is a piece of olde London and the atmosphere feels like something from Harry Potter novels.
Ordered a gift voucher on 9th december via the website, in plenty of time for christmas or so i thought. I was told it would arrive in 2-3 days. It's now the 19th december and it's still not here. Two phone calls to "Customer Services", the first time I was told it was dispatched on 15th december. On 18th I had an automated email to say it had been sent, and that it would take 3 working days to arrive. TO LATE. Terrible service and ineffectual staff on the phones. Really disappointed and won't be using Berry Bros & Rudd again
Turns up at 6.05 as it said it was open on website till 9pm and they told me I could not go in to risky room as private function. I had walked 20 mins to get there. They could have put this on the web!!!!
The ultimate wine shop! Extensive cellars, knowledgeable staff, and great wines. What more could you want? The wines actually on display are limited - but staff quickly can reveal do much more...
