"If you penetrate behind the famous shop front at 3 St James's Street you find that Berry Bros. are a firm of surprising contrasts. The list of their clientele since 1698 reads like the index to a politico-social history of England: yet, today any number of regular customers drop in and take away a bottle or two in a carrier bag. Moreover they receive as warm a welcome as a millionaire restocking his cellar"

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.

  • Absolutely terrible. I ordered and received confirmation of my order on Monday June 12th for a bottle of wine and a presentation box for a friends birthday. The party was Saturday so the 3 day promised delivery should be no problem. I rang Friday morning (16th) to enquire when the delivery would arrive to be told they had it down for Tuesday the 20th (over a week from order). The reason for the delay was they had held a company conference on the Wednesday ,I said this was not good enough so they said they would find a courier and deliver it on the 16th, they said they would email the details so that i could track it. No email was sent and i had to ring yet again to trace it, an email with tracking details was then sent to me. The wine arrived minus the presentation box !!!!!! All in all a very poor service from a company i will not be using again or recommending this company.
  • Love your King's Ginger! Delicious! And your shop is amazing! My girlfriend and I visited from Canada, and she loved that this is the original store from back in the 1600's. Will try to make this a stop again on our next visit to London in the future.
  • Great selection of wines available in amazing building, with us having a great tour of the cellars before our wine tasting and business meeting.
  • The place to go for expert advice, excellent wines and helpful, courteous service. Genuine wine experts are keen to ensure you choose the wine you want rather than upselling for the sake of it.
  • A great selection of wine, really great actually. You can find very good wines that are not so expensive. Also can order online and pick the order from the store. Quick collection and helpful staff.
