  • Barbican Gallery is a very lively place where there's always something: exhibitions... you can have tea, it's very nice

  • In the relatively recently built neighborhoods North of St Paul's Cathedral, next to the remains of the Roman wall, have this gigantic building in notable style built during the long planning. Already in 1959 it was decided if the mission and not until 1984, it was inaugurated. Later was appointed on to London's ugliest building. The material is concrete, which is formed on the surface of powerful blows with the hammer. The Centre has two galleries. We visited one of them and checked out the sold-out exhibition with Basquiats. Already the month before we had bought the ticket so we slid past the long line of waiting. It is recommended to plan museum visits from Sweden otherwise it can be a stop at the inlet. A variety of restaurants and bistros, music, cinema, theatre; everything fits within the building that will be the largest of its kind to use. Recommended

  • We attended the Basquiat exhibition at the Barbican. It was very interesteing, even thought I wouldn't say this was my type of art. Well organised, and lots to see, enjoyed it,.  more »

  • Small art gallery, but always thought provoking. Sometimes interactive! Definitely modern/contemporary. Please drop in if you're in the area or are seeing a film at the cinema.
  • Filled with artistic atmosphere. Great
  • I came for the exhibit on science fiction and dystopian futures, and I didn't enjoy how the exhibit was broken up across different floors and areas of the centre. The space overall felt chaotic and overwhelming.
  • A cultural hub hosting exhibitions, workshops and talks. Always interesting, the unexpected here, top-notch curation, content and frequently changing events.
  • My first time at Barbican. I'm surprised that there are hardly any reviews. I managed to see "Vulgar"😍exhibition on it's last day and I have to say that 2nd time in a month I am disappointed that I had lefted it too late and I only saw it once. It's one of those exhibitions which make you think and look at things/life/cloths/people twice. I loved Mr Adam Phillips descriptions in every room. Suddenly everything make sence...Well done. If you want to catch up with the exhibition you need to go to Vienna...but there is a catch... will they translate it to german😉? I left smiling and sad wishing I could see it one more time. To Barbican: I found out about exhibition by chance...there are lots of people who are interested in fashion and in my eyes it wasn't promoted well enough.
