Achmelvich Beach, Lochinver

(4.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Achmelvich Beach, a small bay of fine white sand and turqouise water, sits nestled among the characteristic moorland and rocks of the northern highlands. Don't let the beach's Mediterranean appearance fool you, however, as the water stays cold and bracing even with the sun shining. Experience the waves on water skis or a windsurf board, or kayak along the rugged coastline. Fishermen will find the waters teem with fish, and hikers will find plenty of walks and climbs in the surrounding area. Nearby camping and caravan spots make a great base for a holiday in the area and provide basic amenities. With our online itinerary creator, Lochinver attractions like Achmelvich Beach can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • We went in Feb 2017. We had the beach to ourselves and it was magnificent. The sand was white and the sea blue.
