Loch Katrine, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

Located in the specular district of Sterling, Loch Katrine offers plenty of activities for visitors. Take a ride on the steamship Sir Walter Scott, a local landmark for the past 100 years, or the more modern craft, "The Lady of the Lake." Rent a bicycle and bring it on either boat if you’d like to cycle on your return journey. Cycle space on the boats is limited and must be booked in advance. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, walk along the loch's shores and explore the area on foot, then relax with a drink in Brenachoile cafe while enjoying the views from the comfort of the bar. • Loch Katrine, surrounded by peaks and forest, is located in the beautiful region of Trossachej. This very long Lake (16 km), which serves as a reservoir for Glasgow from 1859 onwards. To become better acquainted, you must walk or drive along a beautiful road along the North Shore, or sail on a steamship Sir Walter Scott.

  • Really enjoyed our visit. Be careful as the website said there would be an 11:30 boat but there wasn't, so it isn't accurate. There's a bit of a cheesy photo selling on the boat, but have a drink from the bar and enjoy the viees. Dogs allowed on boat. We saw an Osprey on its nest which was a great touch!
  • Loch Katrine is simply stunning. The highlight of our day, was the Loch Cruise on the glorious Sir Walter Scott Steamship. Very special & certainly a day to remember. "We Salute you".
  • It is beautiful up Loch Katrine. Nice to walk or to go with your camper. You have to ask permission for the camping places from march untill september. The loch itself is beautiful to take pictures or to go with the steam boat. There is also a nice cafe to drink a coffee or have a snack. Also a parking place to park your car.
