  • Stunning scenery.. definitely worth a day out and the toilets are immaculate. Best free restrooms I have ever come across for a public place
  • A great place for the family, long walks, bike rides, photographers paradise and plenty of restaurants. But be prepared for rain. The powerhouse has undergone modernisation as a result they are able to generate about 62MW. In its day this was one of our civil engineering marvels, the old structure having been built of stone is still standing up to use almost 150 years of service.
  • View from hotel room was fantastic, Good walking route around the lake. Room:- extremely elegant. Food:- second to none. Breakfast : - Good selection from menu. Good place to relax and forget the hassle buzzards of this fast moving world. Highly recommended.
  • Spent a great night (if cold) here parked up near the shoreline in a camper van. The weather wasn't the best at the time but it was still a very pretty place
  • Stunning scenery with a lovely Lakeside drive which hugs the shore line all the way around. There is a quaint cafĂ© serving good food that has a gift shop attached. The stag are very pleasant and friendly. The reservoir itself had canoe and boat hire available and fishing is available if booked. The sculptures a in the sculpture garden are looking a little tired but there are some interesting pieces to see in a tranquil setting. There is also an rspb bird hide with an abundance of birds that feed inches from you.
