  • A very interesting house and gardens in a lovely location. Some very interesting rooms and the full wall painting was something else.  more »
  • Situated on the Menai Straits with astounding views. The house is worth the visit, several cafes on site. The guides do a first class job.  more »
  • Brilliant welcome as always at National Trust properties, we had a great wander around the really well maintained grounds with our Labrador. The views from the house towards the bridges over the Menai...  more »

  • A delightful house & gardens and what a view. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable, the painting in the old dining room is stunning. Lots of information about the Marquees of Anglesey family and exploits, especially involvement in the Battle of Waterloo. Nice dining room, plenty of tea and cake as well as locally produced food. Grounds and gardens are delightful, plenty of picnicking opportunities. Fabulous river views and onto Snowdonia. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Used the free buggy to return to the car park.
  • Another great National Trust location. The house wasn't as good as others mainly due to the 1930s decor which looks rather bland. However the views are fantastic and it is well worth a visit.
  • Beautiful house and gardens with lovely views. The bonus was seeing Rex Whistlers full wall mural. Amazing artwork!!
  • Nice open grounds and a lovely house. The exhibitions are good when you get round to them and there are some great artefacts to be seen. My wife and I took our dog and were made to feel very welcome. There are signs to see a flower garden but this can be quite a trek for little reward, it is down an uneven path which may be tricky for those who may struggle on such ground.
  • Another super house, what a location! The huge mural was very impressive as was the guide who explained it all. The gardens were extensive and back lovely walk, our only disappointment was in not seeing any ref squirrels.
