Llandudno Pier, Llandudno

#2 of 15 in Sightseeing in Llandudno
Pier / Boardwalk Tourist Spot
A site where the most fashionable Victorians once promenaded to the accompaniment of Jules Rivière's orchestra, Llandudno Pier is still frequently used as a set for period pieces. The pier has two entrances, the North Parade and the original entrance off Happy Valley Road. These entrances are split by the Grand Hotel, which looks out over the water and the pier. A stroll down the pier will reward you with views and a look at the exquisitely crafted ironwork balustrade. Stalls with shops and snacks line the pier, and occasionally a historic ship docks at the end. • Love this pier. One of the longest ive seen. Has all the old fashioned amusement arcades along it as well as candy floss, hot dogs, drinks and ices. There are mini fair rides for very small children and a few other stalls along the pier. Right in the end is a cafe and I think an entertainment hall. You can usually see people fishing off the end of the pier and is a great place to go crab fishing. Supplies and bait can be bought on the pier. The views are great and you can see all of the Victorian bay and hotels and up to the Great Orme. There is even a traditional punch and Judy tent just along from the entrance you the pier. From alongside the pier you can take a boat ride or fishing trip.
  • Lots to see and do around the area. The beach does have jellyfish so be careful if going for a paddle. Be careful with food, the seagulls will swoop down and steal it.
  • Great Pier.walk down the Pier and look at the the little shops, walk through the amusements and let the little ones play on the small rides. Get to the end and have a beer or wine or two, also if you time it right you can get boat trips from the end of the Pier...
  • Good place to walk small booths selling souvenirs amusements at both ends and cafe. Children's play rides and slides
  • We spent a few days in town. The pier is a favourite spot for a walk. This night was special!! See you soon Llandudno!
