  • It's difficult to articulate quite where the appeal of The Hall at Abbey-Cwm-Hir lies. No one is making the claim that the contents are original or "period" - many of them are the odd bits collected by the owners. Somehow, despite the eclectic nature of the items, it all seems to come together in quite a delightful way. Touring the house is like the antithesis of visiting a National Trust property - touching is permitted, the background stories are surprising, and the contents of each room unpredictable. Paul and Victoria - the owners - are clearly bonkers in the most lovely, obliging, and endearingly British way. A lot of hard work has gone into this enterprise and the result is well worth a visit.
  • Beautiful remote village!
