Trip Planner: Europe / UK / England / Cornwall / Lizard / National Trust - Lizard Point and Kynance Cove
The southernmost peninsula of the British mainland, The Lizard has a remote, wild quality that attracts visitors year-round. Take in the dramatic coastal scenery walking along the west coast's paths or wander through ancient woodlands around the Helford River on the east coast. Activities abound, including cycling, kayaking, and rock-pooling. Visit the Marconi Centre at Poldhu to learn about the birthplace of modern communication. In summer, choose from numerous beaches, including Kynance Cove, voted one of the world's most beautiful coastal spots. After a short climb down the heather-dappled hillside, you'll discover turquoise waters, serpentine rocks, and a white, sandy beach. Have a cup of tea or sample local Cornish fare at Kynance Cafe, serving food from Easter to November. Check tide information in advance, since in spring waters tend to submerge the beach. Put National Trust - Lizard Point and Kynance Cove and other Lizard attractions into our Lizard trip builder site, and watch your holiday take shape.

A gorgeous cove, very popular, so the car park gets full quite early in the morning. We visited towards the end of the afternoon so didn’t struggle to get a place. Free to National Trust members... more »
A really stunning and easy coastal path walk. Complimented by a little walk into the old bay and disused lifeboat building. Nice little cafe there too. more »
Lovely peaceful place, there's parking and you can walk down to see spectacular views and have a picnic or eat at the cafe, there is a steep trail down that had a few steps but there is a hand rail. Also if you prefer you can sit on a bench to enjoy the views without walking all the way down. A short 10 minutes walk will take you to the small village that has some really great shops, with unusual gifts, stones and pottery. There are also some nice places to eat. If you like you can climb the lighthouse and enjoy the small museum.
Lovely spot to sit and watch the seals. Plenty of coastal walks if you are feeling energetic. You can climb the lighthouse but if you want to do this I would go there first and find out what times the tours are. Clean toilets in the car park, two cafes and a few little shops selling local artists work. The little shop at the top supports the Cornwall Seal Group Trust and will happily talk to you about the seals.
Southern-most point of mainland UK offer stunning scenery. It is easy to spot grey seals, take your binoculars along. The coastal path passes here and and take you to Kynance Cove, another breathtaking point on the Lizard Peninsula. National trust provide much information. You can take a short walk to the Lizard Lighthouse, open to public. You can buy tour for the lighthouse
Amazing place with some phenomenal coastal walks for all ages, words and pictures cannot describe. You must come here if you're anywhere in the South West. This has got to be one of the most scenic places I've been. We also had a nice bbq here, ample space to park and have your own space at Lizard Point £5 all day parking.
I love visiting here, because not only is it Britain's most Southerly point, but it is beautiful. The old buoys and buildings take you back to yesteryear and a more innocent time. The views are also stunning on a clear day and after a long walk there are plenty of lovely places close by to have a coffee and cake :-)
