Almond Valley Heritage Trust, Livingston

4.5
#1 of 18 in Things to do in Livingston
A pleasant distraction for visitors of all ages, Almond Valley Heritage Trust features buildings and exhibits dating back to the early 20th century. Ride a train around the farm or interact with animals at the petting zoo. Guides provide information about the animals and the farm's history, which you can also discover by visiting the interactive museum. The green spaces are perfect for a picnic, but if you prefer to eat indoors, drop by the farm's cafe. Plan my trip to Livingston with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

  • A fabulous place for families. So much to do and so much to see. A good selection of animals with a petting area. Lots fun at areas. And lots of areas where children can learn through play, there is an school room from the old days, a Shale Bing. I had the most fabulous Mothers Day my 3yr old grandson took me round ( his farm) with such confidence.
  • Great place for a day out with children. Animals to see and plenty of play areas. Good cafe with indoor play too. Car park could do with developing as the grassy fields can be very muddy at times.
  • Having lived here for a few years and never had someone mention this place, even as I work down the road. I didn't have the biggest expectations going in either. But this place is incredible. Loads of things to see and do. Compared to other zoos and such, the animals are quite active and because of this are just as interesting as seeing foreign animals.
  • Lots for the kids to do an experience with a decent Cafe to use. Lots of different things to view and interact with. Main issue is the car park we were here after a wet day, the very, very small car park was full so the mud laden overflow was in a ridiculous state and I saw a mum with a car full of kids stuck fast in the mud. Come on Almond Valley spend some of the money you charge in doing something about the state of the car park and you would not have complaints from the locals about visitors parking outside on the main road. This is what myself and a numbers of others had to do.
  • Good place to spend a day out. Was very quiet when we visited on a Friday afternoon. A lot bigger than we had imagined but meant lots to do. Some of the facilities are a little dated though.
