In 2005, a new central entrance hall and a six-story atrium were added to World Museum. After you pass through this grand atrium, you'll find galleries filled with archaeological, ethnological, and scientific artifacts. Inside, the World Cultures gallery allows you to explore the world without leaving Liverpool. If strange creatures are your passion, then check out the Bug House. Admission to the attraction, and the in-house planetarium, is free. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Liverpool trip simple and quick.

  • What a lovely museum. It has a lot of great history. I think is one of the most beautiful museums in the city. Is an interesting place to behold. I always spend some time here during my leisure hours. It gives me inspiration.
  • The world museum is a fantastic place. I only went there to see the Terracotta army exhibition but it was well worth the visit. The Museum is really easy to find and there is a small car park directly in front which is pay and display. Around the back there is a larger car park also pay and display and charges are quite reasonable I paid £3.90 for 3 hours. On entering the museum we were greeted by a lovely young man asking if we needed any help and he pointed us in the direction of the cafe, the toilets and the exhibition itself. The cloakroom is free of charge but there was a very long wait in the cafe (over 20 minutes) I think this may have been due to the exhibition. The food was not wonderful we had the baguettes which were cold and hard but the tea was lovely, I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. There are plenty of toilet facilities and a lift up to all the floors and the area is well lit. On arrival at the second floor exhibition the concierge explain the rules to us and sent us in in groups of 50 so that everybody could get round the exhibition easily. The exhibition itself was fantastic and as I said earlier well worth a visit. If I'm in Liverpool again I would definitely visit this museum and would recommend to others.
  • We went to see the Terracotta Warriors, but as we were early, we had a look around the Egytian section. It was extremely interesting, with plenty of information and exhibits, including real mummies which my young grandson found fascinating. We would definitely like to go back, as there were further floors which hold even more promise! This is a lovely museum, well worth a visit. Free of charge except for the Planetarium shows and any special exhibitions like the Terracotta Warriors. (Nice cafe too.)
  • Brilliant day out, smaller than I expected after reviewing it on-line but good nevertheless. We go there about 11am and all the tickets for the terracotta warriors had been sold out so we missed them... I advise to buy on-line before you go. It was extremely busy as it was school holidays so long queues for the lifts to get to the floors and the queue was so long for the restaurant that we went over the road to a pub to save time. There are some great displays - the Egyptian section was our favourite. I would recommend a visit
  • Only get 4 as we didn't get to see the Terracotta Warriors. If you are going to see them make sure you book well in advance!!! The Egypt exhibition was good even though there were loads of kids.
