  • We called into the museum today. Staff are all lovely and the exhibits are well displayed and very informative. It was great to learn about Lilian Metge from Seymour Street in Lisburn and her involvem...  more »
  • The Linen Museum is in 'downtown' Lisburn. It's a small but interesting place. The exhibits don't change often enough for me but I suppose that's to be expected, it's a rural thing. There's a nice lit...  more »
  • This place is a bit like a tardis. At the entrance is a typical tourist gift shop, plenty of Irish linen, good selection of local history interest books and nice gift things. Coming over to the old se...  more »

  • Not wildly exciting but it was interesting to see the history of linen and the process of converting flax into fabric. We were fortuitously there when a school group was doing a guided tour and demonstration so tagged along with them. The demo on the flax gave me a new appreciation for the process to produce the linen clothes I enjoy wearing.
  • An institution and landmark in the centre of Lisburn for years, whilst the actual museum is probably much more entertaining for people who have no knowledge of Lisburn or the industrial background of Ulster, it's still worth a visit if you've never been. The cafe is pretty good, with various bakes and food available to enjoy whilst looking down Bow Street.
  • Always have from a child, has that nostalgic feeling to it great wee local museum.
  • Not suitable for easy access
  • Fabulous experience. We spent nearly 2 hours wandering around. We had a very in depth and fun explanation of the whole linen making experience from Virginia - she was amazing and full of information.
