  • This place is a little time portal, and we were so glad it was! Our 4 year old had a blast and so did we. Views from the train are gorgeous. Mini train feels like you're travelling through an Enid Bly...  more »

  • A must visit place. Great for all the family young and old. The steam powered rides are fantastic and will bring back memories for some, even though most where converted to electricity the rides where the same. All of the staff at the steam collection are friendly and passionate about the age of steam. Great cafe and plenty of places for a picnic. Ticket price is very good and lasts for a year, you can visit as many times as you want. Enjoy your visit.
  • We love Hollycombe. Many family memories have been made here. A traditional, classic, non-commercial day out. No Peppa Pig, Lego, Disney in sight (yes!). This year we brought our 2 year old for the first time and he loved it.... plenty for him to go on. Volunteers are friendly. Ive knocked off a star because I feel the entrance should be reduced a little when some of the big more adult rides are under construction (2 big family favourites were the day we went). Even thought it's an annual ticket you get, I feel like we HAVE to come back to feel like it's good value for money. I guess my son won't be complaining ;)
  • A lovely day out for younger children and parents who love steam and vintage fairground attractions. Hollycombe is a volunteer run charity. The day we went some of the attractions were closed either due to repair or understaffing because volunteers hadn't turned up. It made no difference though. The staff were friendly and helpful and rotated around the attractions so most were open at some point. If you have young children you will probably rotate around the Ferris Wheel, Traction Engine Ride, miniature railway, narrow guage railway and carousel. My kids had a lovely day. It's not too crowded and therefore a relaxed experience for all as the queues were very short. Lovely grounds to walk around and have a picnic. We bought a family ticket which enables us to go back for free anytime we wish for a year. Fantastic value!
  • I would give it 0 stars if I could. Very overpriced for what it is. Not much to do if the weather isn't great, which they should reduce the entry price for that matter. (Can't predict British weather.) Not all the ride were open so a lot of wondering around like headless chickens. I think only 2 age ranges would benefit from this and that would be young children and elderly (or unless you are REALLY into the Steam collection.)
  • The staff there are very welcoming and they work very hard to maintain all those beautiful locomotives. The surrounding scenery is relaxing and beautiful. I look forward to visiting again.
