Lincoln Christmas Market, Lincoln
Categories: Flea Markets, Shopping
Get in the festive spirit at one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe. Stroll through over 250 stalls and a carnival set against the striking backdrop of Lincoln’s medieval square. Lincoln introduced the first traditional German Christmas market to the UK as part of its twinning with the town of Neustadt in Germany, and the German link is still strong. Browse the German crafts, food, and drink brought by merchants from Neustadt to Lincoln Christmas Market. Treat yourself or a loved one to handcrafted goods and local produce. The market is so popular that organizers introduced a one-way system for pedestrians. The route takes you through the grounds of Lincoln Castle, which is not normally accessible without paying a fee. Those with mobility issues should note that the market is located at the top of a hill (aptly called Steep Hill) and is on cobbled streets. Make sure you bring cash with you, as the limited number of ATMs in the market get very busy.
