Wall Roman Site Reviews
I've lived 15 minutes away from this site for 5 years and never visited. I took some visiting Australian friends today and we really enjoyed it. Easy and quick little visit and really fascinating for ... more »
A well kept site with information boards outling the different parts and their Roman usage. Whilst it is quite small, there is a small car park nearby. I found it quite interesting and worth a quick v... more »
It's not a huge site - information boards give what's needed at various points around the remains, and it has atmosphere because of its position. more »
Lived here all my life and never visited before. It was good to go and look. Only small buy amazing all the same.
Very interesting and well maintained. Free parking and situated in a stunning little village. It is well worth paying 20p for a leaflet of the walk showing all the places of interest in the village (available near the phone box in the car park). It is approx 2.5 miles in total but a shorter 1.5 mile walk is also available. There is a beautiful little picnic area right next to the car park. Check the web site for opening times of the museum (especially if you think you might need the loo on your visit because that is where it is). The settlement remains are very well illustrated and very interesting. I wouldn't recommend this for people with very young children or mobility issues simply because of the terrain, lack of facilities and amount of walking involved. We spent just under 2 hours at the site and we took our time, saw everything and also did the small walk.
Free museum and entry to site. Surprisingly well preserved site of Roman bath house and mansion. Friendly staff are very helpful. Really good.
Nice site. Car parking 1 minute walk from the site with picnic benches. The site is only small but great if your passing through we were also lucky enough to have the museum open when we visited (again only small)
The site is quite small but lovely place to visit. The museum provides a fascinating insight into life here and displays many excavated finds as you can see in the photos. There are also artefacts that you can touch and examine. The museum itself is quite small but there sure are some great treasures to admire.
