Harmby Waterfall, Leyburn

#4 of 15 in Things to do in Leyburn
Harmby Waterfall lies a short walk from the road yet feels tucked away, deep in the woods. Park off the side of the main road and follow the signpost to the trailhead. A clear and well-maintained trail leads to the waterfall, which tumbles down a precipitous rock face. • This is a small but beautiful waterfalls; in spring, the flow is the greatest. My photo was taken in early summer. Park in the lot along the roadway, near the Pheasant Inn & Caravan Park, walk across the road and follow what looks like a gravel driveway. (It is open to the public). At the bottom of the hill, before reaching the house, turn right. A tripod and a long exposure (such as 1/2 second) will get you the best photos.
  • A short pleasant walk from the road at the side of a house. Several stone steps with handrail. Not suitable for wheelchairs. There is a bridge over the stream.
  • A nice out of the way spot. Very secluded it is under cover with tree branches. It could do with wooden table and bench to sit and enjoy the peace and quite of the water
  • Not really an attraction. Pleasant walk through the woods but not much of a trail other than that. Its a 10 minute experience
  • Simple path past pretty waterfall. Only takes a few minutes. Access to longer walks by the river. Pub across the road but doesn't do food.
