You'll find a warm welcome awaits you here, where you'll discover a great day out for all the family!

In the spring, the sights and sounds of newborn lambs, calves and chicks delight the visitors. Ducks waddle around the farmyard and paddle happily in Pix Brook, which meanders through the farm. Pigs, free-range chickens and rarer breeds of poultry can be seen as you wander around the farmyard.

A pleasant picnic area is located next to an outdoor children’s play area and indoor picnic facilities are available during inclement weather. There's also the Standalone Cafe for farm visitors and a Walkers Cafe for those passing by on the Greenway. The farm walk takes you through surrounding paddocks, past sheep, cows, different breeds of goats and horses all contentedly grazing.

A wander around the displays in the exhibition barn containing seventy bird specimens, mammals, animal skulls, model dinosaurs, creepy crawlies and a working beehive, will prove interesting to both adults and children. A gentle stroll away, and easily accessible to the disabled, as is much of the farm, are specially constructed hides to view wildfowl in their natural habitat.

  • Standalone Farm is set in a very pleasant area of Letchworth Garden City. I find it though more suitable for the smaller children of the family.
  • Quite nice place for a walk in the "wildlife". Seriously, if you have kids, this place can be good for a couple of time to feed animals, but other than that there is very little to bring you here. Quite expensive when compared to similar places.
  • Great place to take the kids. One downfall is the price. It is quite expensive when compared to other places that are similar.
  • visited the bird hide recently, very disappointed to see only a couple of ducks and an ? egret, possibly due to fact that no feeding stations erected within view of hide, which would attract a lot of small birds and squirrels, &, no info up on walls of hide as to what is frequenting this area. It just looks so neglected down, and the water had rubbsh "dumped" in it.. the only plus is that there is ground level access for wheelchairs/disabled. We took cameras but, maybe a bad day or wrong time of year!
  • A great day out for family. Especially for young children as it's not too big. Lots of animals, a playground and an area with ride on tractors, you can buy food to feed the chickens/ducks, there are picnic areas as well as a cafe. Then when the kids are exhausted pop then in the buggy and go for a walk through the countryside. What more could you ask for?
  • It's alright the cafe is really expensive they could do with some more animals.
