Where to stay in Leicester

A B&B near Leicester Clock Tower is within walking distance of the main attractions. Charming architecture surrounds the clock tower square and makes a lovely backdrop to walking tours of the city. For a luxury hotel, consider staying in a renovated Victorian building on the outskirts of the city center.

  • Great to show the children how things worked back in times gone past. There is even a part where you can flush away a family flush poo.
  • Mind-bogglingly huge working water pump, come and see the full power of the British victorian technology. The most thunderous bass you'll ever feel. And such nice fairs in August!
  • An excellent venue which was always first on our list of places to visit on event days but the recent parking charges have somehow taken the shine off it. It's a pity that these have been introduced. It will be a shame if this has a detrimental effect on attendance numbers but on a personal level, queuing to feed a parking machine is way down on my priorities on a weekend.
  • Free parking and free entry... great venue
  • Fantastic learning experience for kids. Pumping station can be seen in action. It also has a museum style display of how things used to work in olden days.
