  • Beautiful house, great to look around, need to give yourself at least two to three hours just to take in some of the information which you get from a personal handheld digital recording. This gives you basic information about each room, there are also information files in each room to read (this could add a lot more time to your visit if you read through each of these). There are also a tea room serving hot and cold food, a rare breeds farm which supplies the tea rooms and beautiful public grounds to walk around.
  • I was extremely impressed with my visit today. All the staff were very helpful. The audio equipment given to accompany the house tour I think is a nice touch, and very useful. My friends, and I, had lunch in the restaurant and we found the service and the food impossible to fault. To sum up, the venue is a good value day out and I would heartily recommend it.
  • Well preserved historic house with grounds. Plenty of grand pieces of furniture. Lots of paintings and enough to keep you going a couple of hours. Courtyard cafe, rare breed farm, herbaceous border, rhododendron walk, woodlands and lake. Everything. Regular events held here too.
  • Something for everyone here. Good just for going for a walk. Excellent play park. Home farm costs money to get in but it is very reasonably priced and specialises in rare breeds. On top of that an historic house to visit and, if you can find it, a lovely walled garden. There's also a cafe and gift shop. You can have a real family day out here.
  • Lovely house, park and gardens. Plenty of parking, some of it free. Lots to do. View the house, massive area to explore in the gardens. Great little farm to view. Gift shop and courtyard cafe too. Often visit with family for events they're running. They also have a large kids play area too that keeps vthe kids occupied.
