Roundhay Park, Leeds

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web
One of the largest city parks in all of Europe, Roundhay Park is a collection of woodland, lakes, and landscaped grounds. Bring a picnic in the good weather months, or hike through the woodland and enjoy the local plant and animal life. Inside the Canal Gardens are a group of greenhouses, each protecting plants from different climates. Enter Tropical World inside the Coronation House to discover one of the largest collections of tropical flora in the United Kingdom. Inside, butterflies and aquariums fill the rooms with color. On your way to the "Tropical World" entrance, you'll pass through a rose garden that was once a vegetable garden for the mansion. Be sure to check out Monet's Garden, where you may recognize the garden path at Giverny from his 1902 painting of the same name. • Decided randomly to go for a picnic with the kids and so that they could go on the skate park. Great time had by all. Wish we could have stayed longer.
  • Love this park so much. Adore walking around the lake. Mansion House is a beautiful place for coffee.
  • Roundhay is a great place for a short walk or a long afternoon stroll. We love to visit Roundhay with our Bulldog!
  • Large park in North Leeds next door to Tropical World. Has a good but often busy cafe with a good selection of meals and snacks. Parking is adequate love walk around the lake.
  • Fantastic place for time with the family. Great for dogs. Hosts loads of events (local and international)
  • A favourite from the past. Holds very happy memories. Children's Day, Tattoos, The Mansion where we had our wedding reception and celebrated our sixtieth wedding anniversary as well as happy walks with our Alsatian dog when walking in snow was a pleasure
  • It's my favorite park in Leeds. It has everything a good park should have and more. Lots of space, water, attractions for kids and touch of history.
  • Such a wonderful, diverse and massive park which is open to public for free is just amazing. You need whole day to enjoy. It has massive play ground, water fountains, pond, large lake, educational exhibition centre, woods, various flower gardens, open field, restaurants etc. will meet all generations demand.
