  • Worth a nose around for the original Marks and Sparks store. Got to love an indoor market, much better than the overpriced monstrosity nearby!  more »
  • Only a very quick trip, bought some fresh veg and looked at a few items of clothing. Nice and tidy even though it was busy, and did not have that dank smell so often associated with markets.  more »

  • Cheap fresh veg meat everything very nice place I love this market. I don't recommend guy with bikes and buggys. I sold there very good buggy he offered only 30 which he sold for 80. Don't sale to him anything! Stealing money. The rest really good
  • One of Leeds' best places, full stop. You can buy practically anything here, and there are some great cheap eateries. The new food hall is particularly good - think Trinity Kitchen except about half the price.
  • Fantastic old market. Some good food spots for lunch. Fishmongers, butchers, artisan bread, fruit and veg grocers provide great quality produce. The Victoria shopping centre provides lots of parking close by too. Worth a trip.
  • Good market with a range of stalls. From fruit to clothing to hot food stalls. It all seems a bit sparse at times though, many spaces not being used which takes away from the appeal of a market.
  • Leeds Kirkgate Market is an icon of Leeds. One of the largest covered markets in Europe it is worth visiting just to look at the amazing late Victorian architecture. The market has had a hard time over the last few decades and has always been a step behind the trends affecting the rest of the city. The stalls range traditional family run butchers to ethnic food shops and most recently trendy street food stalls. There is a palpable conflict between the old and the new in the area surrounding the market and it remains (for the time being) a glance of a Leeds which is fading fast in the wake of large scale development and gentrification.
