  • I was fortunate enough to be given a round of golf on this amazingly beautiful course. I'm not even close to an expert when it comes to golf or golf courses, but the course was a good challenge and ha...  more »
  • Good value decent golf course (9holes) with great views of the castle. Not a course that challenges the best golfer but decent enough challenge.
  • I love this little 9 hole course, the greens are well maintained, and the course fairly challenging. No matter what the weather the 5th hole always brings a smile to my face. You tee off from an eleva...  more »

  • Although the setting is beautiful, the greens are slow, the fairways are bone dry and rock solid, and the tee boxes are uneven and untidy. I've played here a few times over the last few years and it never has been in good condition. That being said the green fees are relatively cheap.
  • I can see why people like the course. I have mixed feelings. It's almost a bit clever for it's own good. Some of the holes penalise a good shot as much as a bad. The 7th is a good example of this. The fairway is a collection of mounds and humps and it's pot luck whether you get a good lie no matter how well you hit your drive. I would say it's more of a challenge than many courses and that the approach on most of the Par 4s is always a hard shot. Some of the greens are also not always in the best condition and sometimes are a little threadbare. That said, the 5th hole, with the Castle and Moat as a background is a beaut and the hang time your drive gets as you tee off from a large hill makes it even better. The 8th is also a great little hole with a water hazard right across the middle. If you drive short you could be in trouble. In summary, it's a good wee course that makes you feel like you've had a game - unlike some 9 holers that leave you feeling like you've had a pitch and putt. On the downside, it could do with a bit of TLC in some places. If you're a bit special then I'm sure you'll love it. If on the other hand, you're a bog standard golfer like me, I wouldn't expect a low score!
  • It is one of my favourite places to play 9-hole gold or 18-hole, although the course relatively short holes it perfect to perfect your game and the added bonus is that the background has a castle with moat.
