I have been to the arena a number of times and love it. I think the smaller size is great as you know you are going to have a good view wherever you sit. For this reason (and not just because I live i... read more »
A big shout out to Bex and Lucy and all the ShowSec and venue team at the First Direct Arena: some of the loveliest staff ever. Super helpful and accommodating of accessibility requirements. Friendly ... read more »
good all round views and staff very helpful and friendly. the space between the seats in front was a bit tight if you are tall but otherwise I couldn't fault the venue.
The actual physical venue is among the best I've been to, however it is let down by among the worst customer service I have come across in all the venues I have seen shows at in the country. I booked accessible tickets for an event when they were released last year, and the only way to book them was to call an 0845 number which ended up costing me another £5 on my mobile bill on top of the ticket prices and their fees. When we went to the show I asked for tap water at the bar to be told by the staff that they had been told not to give free tap water. I only got the water when I told them that it was a legal requirement that licenced premises offer free tap water. I am now wanting to book tickets to two more upcoming events at this venue, and have asked them for an alternative to the 0845 number to call to book. I have sent them two Facebook messages, contacted them through the form on their website and finally emailed them before I got a response telling me that the only ways to book are to call the 0845 number or visit the venue, which is a 150 mile round trip. I asked them as an alternative to ring me to book the tickets, but they completely ignored this, so clearly they don't want my custom. This place seriously needs to re-evaluate how it treats its customers, or it is going to drive people like me to other venues with better customer service, such as the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, which is a similar distance to me and provide a geographic number on their website and happily gave me tap water on request.
Nice design and easy to follow signs, however food was expensive and of poor quality and the seats didn't offer a lot of leg room
Great venue with seats all pretty close to the stage because they go up quite steeply rather than really far back. Saw Reeves and Mortimer here and it was great. Quite cool architecture for an arena too.
We went to see IL DIVO on May 11th 2016 it was fantastic, the staff were very friendly & helpful. We couldn't wish for a better experience as first time visitors and will be coming again thank you Leeds

Large space, not stupidly enormous, but big enough. Stage view from the front is excellent. Can't speak for the back. There were no screens up to enable better view for back though.
