  • DO NOT FOLLOW THE BLUE DYLAN THOMAS BOATHOUSE SIGNS IN YOUR CAR, THEY'RE FOR WALKING ONLY. FOLLOW THE CASTLE PARKING SIGNS INSTEAD. What a lovely area for writing poetry! We parked in the castle car.....  more »
  • Went on a wet windy day. Such an atmospheric place. Love his shed where he wrote and the boathouse where he lived. An inspiring place. You can feel his presence and I’m now going to tackle more of...  more »
  • I have no idea why we haven’t visited Laugharne and the Boathouse sooner - I read a lot of Dylan Thomas and live just over an hour away! The setting is as beautiful as Dylan’s description of the...  more »

  • Visited several times over several years. Laugharne is a strange and rather lovely place, worth a visit even if it didn't have the Dylan Thomas connections. If you like the poetry and the history behind it, going to this town will (if your experience mirrors mine) give a human sense to it, above the words on the page. I can see why someone who knew little if DT's work might not be excited. But for me, always exciting, always like paying a personal visit.
  • Tucked away, this is a pretty place, and you can almost feel time has stood still in this very spot. Lovely coastal walk and a cafe attached to his old boathouse home a bit further along from here. Mud flats mean no swimming/bathing but a lovely walk. There is also a ruined castle at the beginning of the route to get there. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
  • Historical, Welsh and interesting, however, there's not a lot to see. Visit would take minutes. Nice setting and you can see why Dylan chose to write here.
  • Great historical landmark, but all there is to see is a small shed and the furniture inside. However, there is a nice little café located beside it, so that's a good place to go too.
  • Captain Cat is there in all his glory...listen on the wind...you can hear him
