  • Lovely (small) house and substantial grounds. The house is old but is a confection, created by its owner as how he saw an ideal country house. The garden has several areas both formal and open grounds...  more »

  • A good day out for the family with young children. Very well kept. Plenty of grounds to walk about in. There is a lake and some places to picnic. If you don't have a picnic then you can use the coffee shop. Packwood house itself is interesting and not too big so you shouldn't get bored! Recommend the tour. The gardens are very well manicured so bring your camera.
  • Magnificent gardens. The herbaceous borders and trees are beautifully maintained: a real treat. The house, being largely the creation of Birmingham Industrialist, Graham Baron Ash, has real charm but lacks an historical story of any great interest. National Trust has scattered cushions which are embroidered with overblown quotes and eulogies to the man throughout the property, these are quite cringe-worthy. The Café is decent and reasonably priced, with friendly and efficient service even when it's busy.
  • As national trust properties go it's compact and interesting. I wouldn't say it would make a full day out rather 2-3 hours max. The kitchen garden is lovely as is the house and garden. The staff experience was mixed, the lady greeting us in the visitor entrance was lovely, one of the chaps supervising upstairs looked as miserable as sin and unapproachable. Note for National Trust, pick happy, people orientated volunteers please. That aside it was the end to a lovely afternoon.
  • A National Trust House Gardens and acres of land. Just off the M42 junction Shirley. Restaurant with good food. A relaxing day in peace of countryside. Pleasant helpful staff.
  • Manageable size, not over imposing. Furnished in keeping. Very well maintained. Very helpful guides. Beautiful grounds. Good tea room.
