  • The lady in the shop who was a volunteer made our visit even more special with her wit and knowledge of times gone past. The Priory was an amazing building and great for taking photos.
  • Beautifully positioned venue. Historic Priory and delightful tea-rooms. Seperate B&B and holiday cottages. Not far to Hadrians Wall.

  • A very historic site. Entry is free to the Priory with a charge to the rest of the area. Good photo opportunities inside. Sadly some scaffolding outside is spoiling the look of the front which is there to protect the public from falling masonry.
  • Nice combo of gift shop and café. Good stopping point if you are walking 'the wall'.
  • Stunning ancient priory with an interesting graveyard .main building is the local church with stunning high ceilings. The ruins are run by English heritage and they have a guide tape to tell you the history of the place. The attached Dacre hall has medevial paintings on the wall and they often hold craft fairs. Run fact king Edward the 1st ran the country from their at one time when he fell I'll whilst up north fighting the Scots.
  • A beautiful building steeped in history, Dacre Hall is a magnificent part of the priory
  • Compared to other historical places it's a bit small. It's nice enough and I enjoyed it but was underwhelmed in general
