New Lanark World Heritage Site was originally a cotton mill village founded in 1786, and today you can see most of the buildings as they would have looked in the 18th century as a result of restoration work. In the visitor center, learn about the rich history of the village and the life of the mill manager and social pioneer, Robert Owen. Wander the historic streets and imagine how people lived and worked in Owen’s time. Take the Annie McLeod experience ride, where the ‘ghost’ of a mill girl takes you on a journey. Head up to the Roof Garden and enjoy views of the village and the surrounding scenery. Have a bite to eat at the cafe or make use of one the many picnic spots around the village. Same as previous posters, had parking charge of £100. Unsure what to do as we had a ticket which I have since binned. This is a disgrace.

Parked for £3 in car park then walked down to Vsitor’s Centre. Lots to see and do including a ride through history like a ghost train. Then a walk to the Falls of Clyde. Beautiful. Excellent value...

One of the best places to visit in southern Scotland. Really lovely and off the beaten track. Museum and shop etc. Great walks. I make a point of stopping by here whenever I'm in Scotland.

Great location. Easily spent half a day here. Lots to see, you don't even have to buy tickets to wander round the outside or visit the restaurant and shop. There's also a dinosaur trail on at the moment.

We had a lovely stay at Lanark Mill, the sites are beautiful and it is a short walk to the waterfalls and the forest with a beautiful path alongside the river. Staff was super friendly! We loved the service, the room and the location. Would definitely recommend!
-
Lovely area for a walk, especially after some decent rain since the waterfalls will look a lot more powerful. The trails are well maintained meaning that nothing more than tennis shoes is really needed. I did not check out the facilities here unfortunately.
