  • The Lake District has several lakes, each with different attractions. A suggested itinerary for a day trip is: Keswick (lunch there), Ambleside and Windermere. However, going to the Lake District is a walk of at least two days.

  • We parked at the Parkwithease car park on the 15th September. It has a payment upon leaving machine. Being ready to leave we entered our motorhome reg. number, paid the required fee, returned to the v...  more »

  • Obviously the location is beautiful or else you wouldn't be reading this. However, be prepared to walk a lot and have a relaxing day, because besides looking at the landscape there's not a whole lot more to do. Services are limited but if you're into literature you'll enjoy the Wordsworth home. I'm giving it 3 stars for the lack of services and difficulty in finding a way to travel around the Lake District in general. Getting from one spot to another isn't easy for families or for people who have a hard time walking a lot.
  • Visited during January. Amazing experience. We started at Lake windermere and carried on driving till ullswater.. That was the best bit. Do stop on the way to capture some breaktaking pictures!
  • Breathtaking mountain landscapes. I was hiking in south-west area. Hiking to Skyfell was totally worth the effort. Windermere Lake is a beautifull and calm place. I encourage to visit one of many outdoor shops in Ambleside.
  • this is my best place in the world ,i would love to live there
  • Lovely place, very kind staff, it is as if time had suddenly stopped in 1850. A must if you are in northern England.
