If taking a walk along the river in Knaresborough it well worth stopping off to visit this little cave and read about St Robert and what he did all those years ago. more »

This is not a grand place to visit, but the cave in which St Robert lived is there and there are information boards telling his story. It is easy to imagine what it was like when he was there and the setting itself helps to recreate that atmosphere. For a detour of just a few paces, it is a very interesting place to see.

Great little place to immerse yourself into the life of a hermit. Beautiful setting lots of people just walk past without having a look. Their loss. Go, hi right now. You really should.

Easily accessible for those comfortable climbing steps, helpfully informative, and beautifully tranquil beside a secret stretch of the Nidd. For a quiet moment fifteen metres from the road (a sleepy, residential one), this place takes some beating.
