  • Lovely walk in all weathers! The scenery around there was stunning! The weather was cold but clear sunny skies and it was ideal!  more »
  • One of those rare gems you must visit. A walk in nature. Take a flask and lunch and admire the rock formations and water. Look out for the scenes painted by Turner. Truely magical and stunning.  more »
  • There is nothing to see apart a largish lake surrounded by uninteresting trees and a few outcrops of uninteresting rocks. And they charge you for getting muddy shoes! Don't bother.  more »

  • Beautiful lake, can park and walk around. Great wood for exploring children, take a picnic, nothing there. Couple of hours max but worth a visit
  • This place is tranquil and peaceful. Great walk for the family and dog. Could have spent all day here. Take a picnic and enjoy hours of hide and seek . nature lovers paradise.but wear insect repellent .
  • Really nice place for visiting and leisure. It is good for families with children, not good for families with baby in pram, it is better to choose sling or carrier, because of waking path ups and downs, between rocks and muddy leaf litter. You can fishing or make picnic. Ticket for adults 3,5£ but for 5 person car you paid 10£.
  • I haven't been so can't say what it's like but would like to say to everyone out there who likes these types of places for the amount of money spent and been spent on this one it should be open every day historical England should make it a clause before handing over the thousands of pounds (hundreds of)so I've been reading and to the owner don't be so tight get it open every day and like a visitor says on charge £2 entry and more will come press like if you agree and I will pester owner for more opening hours
  • Not massive at 30 acres but still loads of rocks and caves to explore and the lake is really pretty, great place for a picnic. It was £10 for the family but means its not too busy. The kids loved it and will definitely go again.
