  • The Stainmore Railway Company at Kirkby Stephen East is a wonderful preserved line in the heart of the Eden valley. This railway is planning to restore at least some of the original route of the famous 'Stainmore railway'. They have a collection of vintage Gresley 'teak' coaches, one of which (60505) will be in regular service in 2014. Something to look forward to! This is a wonderful little railway with a very welcoming atmosphere. I would strongly reccomend a visit.
  • Everyone is made very welcome.
  • Some excellent rolling stock; numerous ex BR Diesels, 9f 92219 and Gresley teak coaches. A very friendly atmosphere. A real gem. Definitely worth a visit.
