Booked to stay at Whoop Hall which was terrible but Kirby Lonsdale was very nice. Well worth a visit. Don't stay at Whoop Hall stay in the centre there are lots of nice small hotels. more »

The river Lune and valley can be reached by walking through the churchyard to Ruskin's View. Sit a while and take in the beautiful surroundings. Access the river bank via a steep descent down steps and walk to Devil's Bridge, a twenty minute walk from Ruskin's famous inspiration. Walk into the village and try one of the many restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, or local pubs. Visit local shops or stalls on market days.

A spectacular place. A must see if you are in the Lancaster area. Truly one of the most beautiful English pastoral scenes.

Great area. Excellent views and the information board helps identify features. Kids loved picking areas out on the map. Lots of walks to and from here and also the village to look around.
