Fabulous vintage vehicles and modes of transport from years gone by. Laughing policeman makes everyone chuckle, have a peep at "What the Butler saw!", good selection of old and fun games from the seaside. Streetlife area is dark and oh so atmospheric ..... fabulous depiction of 1800s/early 1900s fashion, architecture and social history. Old sweetshop and chemist transports you back to when the size of a chocolate bar gave you a proper wholesome treat .... not the piddling size they are now! Interactive and educational fun for an the family. Took two year old twins and they absolutely loved their time at the museum. And it's free ..... with the option of a small donation to help with upkeep costs (box on exit).
A great place to come and spend an hour or two for free- or you could spend a fortune at The Deep aquarium in a noisy, echoing environment with thousands of noisy families! The streetlife museum is fun, fascinating and full of interesting exhibits, some are interactive- remember to bring a pocketful of 20p coins for the ‘What the butler saw ‘ and similar pier-end amusements. Brilliant!
Great museum, didn't take many photos as had just been around the deep and took loads there before having a stroll over to it. But loved the old vehicles and it's free. Defo worth a visit and i have been before so is still good to go more than once.
Went for a quick visit and stayed for most of the afternoon. Amazing trip back in time, very authentic feel and so many pieces of history crammed. Best part is it's free!! Some good reading to learn about the history but mostly just to look at the old vehicles, shops and tram. Has some vintage arcade games too
Very interesting museum. Excellent 'journey' showing various modes of transport. Unfortunately we didn't get much longer than an hour here, due to onward commitments, therefore we intend to make a return, to properly take everything in, second time around.
