  • Building is in a remarkably good state. Grounds are perfect for picnic. Easy to access from A149. Good parking. Needs a steward to provide some info and prevent graffiti and better signage to the village cafe. More plaques and a history of the site would make it a better learning centre. Also is misleading that this is listed as an English Heritage site as corporate cards that allow EH entrance do not work here.
  • Good place for children, nice and open so plenty of room for them to run around. Not very big so you couldn't spend a whole day there.
  • Step back in time and history! Definitely hire the audio guide.
  • Very little information available on site, but still worth a visit if only for the size of the earthworks.
  • A great and historic castle with nice views of the surrounding area. Supposedly haunted...
