  • The best part is " it's still open in Winter " This past on a pleasant afternoon. A few walks can be started from here, with a nice warm drink at the cafe at the end.  more »

  • The gift shop and visitors centre are quite nice. No wheelchair access upstairs, but it is very old! The bit about the forestry work is good; as is the tea room. The christmas fayre is great.
  • Really good for walkers to stop after a long 10 mile hike (literally). Decent wifi, there was a tv with a osprey nest cam, an exhibition about space , wildlife & more. A 6 or 7 min walk from the campsite. No phone signal at all.
  • Lots of walks to take you into the forest. The easiest is the "stickman" trail based on the "stickman" children's storybook by Julia Donaldson
  • Great place for walks and bike routes. I did the Borderline route. Nice cafĂ©, which you can watch birds from.
  • Excellent mountain bike trails, check out the lonesome pines trail for some blisteringly fast flowing single track! Bike shop and cafe, just wish they stayed open longer. Remember to bring change for the parking.
