Theme Park Water / Amusement Park
Enjoy rollercoasters, boat rides, train rides, and camping in the natural setting of Wicksteed Park. Make your way around four themed areas. In Arena, thrill yourself on the venue's bigger rides, such as Flying Chairs, Revolving Paratrooper, Ladybird Coaster, and Rocky River Falls log flume. Make sure you're ready to get wet on the watery rides and attractions around Lakeside. Fairground features rides for kids up to the age of 13 or 14, and Playground offers a free jungle gym. Ride the heritage Wicksteed Park Railway around the venue, and pitch a tent in the campground if you want to spend the night. To save time on waiting in line at the entrance, book your tickets online. If you arrive by car, parking costs extra. • I visited here for the first time with my little 4 yr granddaughter and daughter. There was a large event of disadvantaged school children here on the day. However, it is such a large area it didn't f...  more »

  • We went with age concern trip. It was show and meal the theme was seaside we had fish chips and peas served on newspaper on a plate for pudding it was bread and butter pudding with custard this was gorgeous. The comedian was brilliant really funny. There was singing dancing and comedy a good all round show.
  • This place has been virtually unchanged by time. The pavilion offers some great shows, the park and gardens are still well maintained and there is still a little railway that runs right round the park as well as more modern things like the log flume and racing cars. The atmosphere is peaceful and old worldly and it's just a lovely place.
  • Our first visit for a long time on a beautiful sunny day. We enjoyed a picnic, rode the train, my boy went on the tea cups and we played football. You buy a wristband or tickets to ride the attractions. The map we received wasn't great, so take a look at the one online which is better.
  • Great place for kids with loads to keep them amused, but some areas are being neglected the main one being the kids paddling area and joining boating lake are so dirty! It's a shame as it was read hot today and a paddle would have been great! Otherwise its great Park and staff
  • Vast open parkland with literally acres of space to play in. Factor in the various attractions like, The Zip Wire, Train Ride and various fairground type attractions, it is clearly a place designed for play. There is also space for lakeside & woodland walks. The Pavilion also provides a meal and a show. These change thru the year and are produced by an excellent group called 'Revival'. I felt the food whilst tasty was short on quantity. Why is it so difficult to get a decent coffee? However my major concern was the fiasco to get a wheelchair. Which been booked in advance. It was not available when we arrived, a trip to reception still failed to generate said item. Then during tea we were informed that it was broke & away for repair. Clearly a case of left hand not liaising with the right.
