  • The standard approach from Portinscale can be VERY busy....queues form on sections of the climb. The longer route down Derwentwater to Grange then up towards High Spy and back to Catbells is more...

  • Catbells is a challenging walk as it’s so steep but it is absolutely worth it! The views over Derwent Water are stunning. I recommend getting the lake ferry from Keswick over to the base of the hill.....  more

  • The views are well worth the effort to climb the few scrambles on the route.
  • The scenery, mountain views, amazing hiking experience , loads of obstacles but doable. Best experience ever, highly recommended.
