  • Exhibits were dark and dingy, cluttered and no flow at all to the museum. It is in a time warp where museums were 30 plus years ago. I have scored it poor and not terrible because of the friendly memb...  read more »
  • Popped in on a rainy day, great value for £2 per person. Spent about 1 hour in the museum, some interesting natural history exhibits.

  • This is an interesting if somewhat idiosyncratic museum, with different collections that have been given or added over the years. There is not much coherence to the place, but that adds to its 'charm'. There is a good attempt to make sense of it all but it probably needs £1/2 million to make it really work.
  • Having lived in Kendal all my life I had never visited the museum until recently and I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a visit for all.
  • We visited the museum as a Scout Group whilst staying in area. Margaret was extremely accommodating for young people and took time to introduce and provide a trail around the exhibits. We will be using the experience towards badge work. I would recommend a visit.
  • I went with the children. A really nice museum with a good range of exhibits. The animal collection was my personal favorite although the WW1 exhibition and the art and geology section was also very interesting.
  • Back again in 2013 and another good visit. ------ We came primarily to see the Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibition, which I can highly recommend. The rest of the museum is a quite random mix of local history and geology, and stuffed animals from around the world. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
