  • The Castle hill is great place for these people who like to have a great view over the Kendal town - there you can see the beauty of Kendal. Its mostly windy there, so take warm clothes with you.

  • Beautiful, dramatic views - excellent walk! I did both the steep walk and the gradual slope really good exercise
  • A ruined castle looking out over the Cumbrian town of Kendal. A steep walk brings you to the castle although there is no easy access for less able visitors. Entry is free and there are several information boards around the grounds. A great place to go for a walk whilst in Kendal to enjoy the views of the surounding fells. As a free attraction it is hard to beat!
  • Although just a ruin, Kendal castle is indeed a very romantic one. Climb to the top of the hill and enjoy the lovely views over the whole area. So worth it!
  • Although the castle is a ruin it is worth the gentle climb to the top of the hill, partly because there is enough of a ruin to get a sense of how it once was, and partly because the views across Kendal and towards the hills are amazing.
  • Good views over Kendal. It's just a ruin, but makes for a good walk. Free to park and visit.
  • Good spot in Kendal for a walk and to see lovely views of the town and the Lake District.
