  • This is a delightful day out in beautiful surroundings. The talk and guided tour are such fun if you are in a group as the memories of attending an all-girls' school come flooding back. Strict instructions are issued during a pre-tour talk by an impressive articulate woman who must share the genes of Joyce Grenfell. Her minions repeatedly remind one of the one way system around the house and the need to keep moving before the next tour arrives. Naughty girls will be stopped if they attempt to revisit something of interest and go against the flow. Everyone is very jolly hockey-sticks. The tea room is run with military precision with some lovely staff. Oh! Do go! You'll have such a giggle!
  • Beautifully preserved and maintained house and garden. Visitors numbers were fortunately low during my visit. Kelmscott village is charming and has a pub. Willow Walk to Thames takes you through some of the paths and plants that inspired William Morris and his pals.
  • Magical house - wonderful volunteers - great restaurant - quality shop
  • A typical Cotswold House, in which the designers and entrepreneurs some William Morris with his family years lived. The volunteers, who explain the Interior and marvel at Morris, make a visit to a special experience.
