Isle of Man Motor Museum
►Welcome to the Isle of Man Motor Museum
This ambitious project has created excitement and interest amongst classic car enthusiasts since it first got underway in May 2015.
Behind the 70,000 square foot site are father and son, Denis and Darren Cunningham, whose 150-strong classic car collection forms the exhibition’s core. With plans embracing displays and events to tie in with the Island’s motorsport calendar; temporary exhibitions and loan items from private collectors; and the display of 150 motorbikes, the museum will continually evolve and is set to become a mecca for automotive enthusiasts.
The Cunninghams’ classic car collection is an eclectic mix of rare and unusual road-going vehicles – including trucks, limousines and hearses - from around the world, dating from 1900 to the present day. Having hit on the idea of making their collection the basis of a museum, Darren toured America in 2013, gathering ideas from museums he visited along the way.
Denis and Darren weighed up several locations before deciding that the Isle of Man, with its long-standing motoring and transport heritage, would make the ideal home for their vision. Upon moving to the Island in January 2014, they set about making that vision a reality.
Darren’s research and Denis’ long career in construction is evident throughout the museum. From the striking feature display area for loans and exhibitions to a restoration and maintenance workshop open to public viewing, every aspect of the museum is geared towards creating an immersive experience.
The motorbike collection is showcased on two curving mezzanine levels, which also afford a great overview of the exhibits below.
In addition to such creative touches, all practical visitor requirements have been anticipated: there is full disabled access throughout the site, ample parking, coach bays, charge points for electric cars and bikes and a gift shop immediately opposite the entrance.
Just over the road is The Guard House Café, the perfect setting in which to unwind and refuel after visiting the museum.

Amazing place, could spend hours here! Don't listen to the 1 star review he obviously is a lunatic. Yes it is expensive but well worth it. Amazing small details throughout and an impressive collection!
Amazing place. Fantastic collection. And run by passionate people. Really well worth the effort to get here and visit this place!
One of the best car museums I have visited, and there are more exhibits on the way. Can't wait to visit next year.

Visited during TT practice week, £12 entry - vastly over priced entry proportion of the exhibits were heavily rusted chassis. Would NOT recommend this as a place to visit.
Brilliant museum although very expensive entry price £12.50 each!!
