  • This monument is over two hundred years old and is very impressive. There is a great walk to great there and the views of the local countryside are amazing. Well worth visiting just for the views.  more »
  • On a visit to the Borders, some friends took me on a lovely walk from the Harestanes Craft & Visitor Centre (which has ample parking) to the Waterloo Monument (completed almost 200 years ago in 1824) ...  more »
  • There are several local walks which incorporate a walk up to this local landmark. Great views can be obtained from the base of the monument without having to climb the tower which I'd love to do. Not ...  more »

  • Great view from the top, make sure you pick up the keys to go inside. Steep climb up the stairs to the top
  • Amazing views and a good walk there. A modest cost of 5 pounds to use the keys from the Lothian Estate Office
  • Great walk, stunning scenery but an ugly monument!
