  • Nice little museum telling the story of Mary Queen of Scots, plenty detailed information to read when exploring the house. As it's an old building accessibility is not great as there is a staircase up to the main parts of the museum. There is a small shop and visitor information desk on the bottom floor. The gardens are well kept.
  • Fantastic and Informative presentation, very interesting. Lovely house and garden. Well done to all the volunteers, fund raisers and donations for saving such an important site.
  • Very informative, giving a full but condensed version of her very eventful life. The reproduction furniture made by a local craftsman using traditional methods, ie. tree nails, was superb! Free entry. Audio guides available for a nominal fee. Really good value. Lovely garden too!
  • Well laid out museum Set in a well maintained garden, with excellent displays about the life of Mary Queen of Scots. Friendly and informative staff. A fascinating visit. Be aware that the upper floors are accessed by a spiral staircase, but it's well lit.
  • Nice museum, gave good info to explain a little about Mary Queen of Scots, but not too much. We found that the information boards were enough but the audio guides added a little more. It's also free, which is great
