  • This is mainly a good visitor centre for finding out what life was like in a 19th century Scottish jail. Its great value as it is free and you get some fantastic views from the tower.  more »

  • Lovely exterior, inside was too modern for my taste, but it does offer a great deal of history. The jail cells are definitely creepy.
  • Steeped in history that I didn't know existed!
  • Small but plenty to see and lots of information to read which makes it worth while. Free entry and easily accessible from the town itself. Optional audio guide at a small cost
