Claigan Coral Beach, Isle of Skye
(4.5/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
At Claigan Coral Beach, what seems to be bright white sand or coral is actually small bits of sun-bleached algae that makes up a stunning shoreline. Located on the Isle of Skye near the Dunvegan Castle, this alluring beach is rarely crowded, as it's a bit off the beaten path. The beach lends itself to long, leisurely strolls, so take your time wending your way down its rugged coast. You could also extend your visit by exploring the other beaches here, which locals call "wee gems." Make Claigan Coral Beach a centerpiece of your Isle of Skye vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Isle of Skye vacation builder.

  • We were in the afternoon there are started after a long single track from the parking lot and took about 1 hour to the Coral Beach. The "beach" was now not so attractive, but scenic scary great located in September. Alone the way there was stunningly beautiful and has a lot of fun. Suitable for walkers, but it needs substantial footwear. From there one has great views on the Outer Hebrides, and with something luck can be seen in the area of seals.
